Title: Opaline Striped Bowl Vase
Post by: TxSilver on April 30, 2009, 06:59:58 PM
Does anyone have ideas of who may have made this bowl-form vase? The bowl appears to be blown and the base is molded. There are 3 types of opaline filigrana stripes -- translucent blue, opaque white, and small translucent blue ones that look amber with direct light. It is 4 7/8" tall and 6 1/8" wide at the rim... and, unfortunately, it has water stain in the bottom.  :'(

Thanks for any help. I have no idea what the origin of this vase might be. There are a couple of pieces of furnace ash, so I suspect the vase is vintage.

:rn: ...sharp intake of breath! Anita, how could you?  ;D !!

That looks to me like a lovely blown and folded foot to which we all aspire....!! :rn:

Don't know who made it though. ;)

I have never seen such a perfect blown base. The ridges and rings are perfectly formed. My respect for the vase just increased.
