Title: Jade Colored (Jadite?) "Chinese" Vase Stand
Post by: horochar on May 02, 2009, 12:25:16 PM
I am hoping that somebody can help me to identify this piece.  It is a stand for a vase in jade colored glass.  It's completely unsigned.  I am assuming that it is vintage 1920s/1930s.  I'd love to know who produced it.  I'm certain it is not Steuben, because it has prominent mold lines indicating that it is not the highest in quality.
Many thanks,
Charles.

Does it glow green under UV? If so, my WAG would be Jobling

Hi,

I don't think it's Jobling, it's a different shape to the 2535 or 2581 Plinths shown in Baker & Crowe. I've attached a pic of a Jobling 2535L for comparison.

Thank you so much for identifying that one. I have one & can confirm it works beautifully with a variety of dishes including Northwood, WMF and even Alessi - so it is truly universal.
