Title: Is this a Fratelli Toso Jug?
Post by: bakonychris on May 04, 2009, 04:51:01 PM
I was so lucky to find this big Murano jug/vase at a fleamarket.
Looks very similar to Toso items. Beautiful murrines and the handle (not like many new examples in clear glass) is made from a drawn murine. At the bottom is a round pontil mark (polished, not rought)
Does everybody know this jug/vase?
Many greetings from the rainy south of Germany
Chris

Sorry I forgot the size: The vase is 28 cm high and on the other side not so clourful (more murrines in similiar way)

No, it is not Fratelli Toso -- sorry. I am not sure who might have done the piece, but not Toso.

Okay, not Toso vase.
But I've never seen a Bucelli vase without handles in clear or coulored glass..

I checked a few Bucella vases and all the ones I checked had gold. Maybe someone will recognize your vase. It is a nice one and does look Murano.
