Hi,
I was wondering if you can help me identify this Clear glass owl. It is 8cm high.

Hi Vickie,
i think its one of the scandinavian crystal companies, Nybro maybe?
Maybe a moderator could move this to Glass or scandinavian, im sure someone will
recognise it.
Cheers
Andy
ps welcome to the Glass message board. :D

Hi Andy
thankyou for your reply, I will put a new letter onto the Scandinavian area, and see if I get a response. I had a look at some Nybro items on Ebay but they don't seem to have a signature like mine.
Thanks again for the welcome!
Best Wishes
Vickie ;D

Vickie you don't need to repost stuff. Just add a reply asking for a Moderator to move it over for you please. Oh and welcome to the board. :)

Hi Vickie,
It's Mats Jonasson of Maleras Sweden.
Hope this helps.

Are you sure Bryn? Mats Johansson is usually easy to read
-
Its definitely Mats Jonasson.. the base is marked with his initials at the front the second letter that looks like a Y is in fact a J, I think its a piece he designed for Royal Krona. Paul

Hi,
No question Christine. I've had loads of these and I have seen them in all lights at boot sales etc. and I think recognising them has become second nature. I actually found one early miniature one of a hedgehog at a boot this morning with just the abreviated MJ Sweden mark.
Cheers,
Bryn

Hi
Thankyou Christine and Bryn,
for helping me solve this, I have has a look on google and I have found a few under his name so that must be it solved, thank you! Appart from the rest of the word after MJ still can't figure this out!
Was is made in the 1970's? as I saw another post saying that Royal Krona finished in 1977.
Best Wishes

Hi Vickie,
If you Google Mats Jonasson Owl 3269 you'll find your Owl listed under an Invaluable.Com auction listing including photo (lot129).

Hi Bryn,
Thankyou, yes I had a look, I have written to the auction house to see what the final price was, not sure if i'll get a reply! I don't have a subscription to invaluable.com too expensive!
Thanks again
Vickie
P.s What do you do when your question is solved?
-
Hi Vickie,
Nothing more to do, you've said your thanks which is great. The moderaters may or may not add a bit to your heading to show other future users in case a similar enquiry turns up and that's it. :)
I do subscribe to Invaluable but it's a free subscription and they don't give final bids to the likes of me, but I do know that the auction took place in Australia in 2005. Prices have dropped considerably from then I'm afraid. I would enjoy it until this credit crunch has run it's course and then try again. Going by my own Ebay experiences I would say that it's probably worth about £15 at today's market but then what do I know. ;D
Good Luck,
Bryn
