Animals can be the most difficult pieces of glass to attribute if they are not signed. Your elephant does not look like the standard BT elephants, which were made with 4 legs using various techniques and decorations. Sometimes the best we can do for unknown animals is call them Murano or Murano-style if we think it is what they look like. Elephants sell poorly on eBay if they do not have an attribution. If you feel your elephant is a good one, it may be good to look around the web to see if you can find one like it that has a label. I look at a lot of animals, so I know it is a difficult task! I suspect from the decoration that your elephant is Italian glass, probably Murano. It appears to be large, which is good. The decoration looks like decoration I have seen for a couple of companies, but I don't particularly associate it with BT.

Hi and thanks for that, what i should have said was there are gold or adventurine inclusions surrounding a series of bubbles that look like small flowers.It does have a look or feel like quality and when it catches the light the gold really sparkles. At the end of the day it isn`t what i collect so i think i will list it on Ebay and see where it goes,probaly best to try and get several photos.. Many thanks for kind advice Steve :thup:

I think you can feel safe calling it Murano. Murano decorations can be difficult to attribute with any degree of certainty. Companies copied each other and glassmakers changed companies, taking their techniques with them. If I run across this elephant in the next week, I'll let you know.
