Title: Czech or Murano vase?

Hi could anyone help id this vase its a very heavy clear knobbly vase and has coloured stripes running through
it. It looks hot worked and seems good quality its base is polished flat and has base wear. Its style is similar to
Liskeard glass knobbly vases but much larger.
Size wise its height is 218mm and it weighs 2715 grams.
Any help gratefully received.. Paul.

Hi all... just a thought could it be Leerdam or Maastricht I have seen similar items attributed to Max Verboeket although its not signed. Thanks Paul.

The lumps or bumps on your vase seem to be more in the style of Liskeard Glass. Liskeard usually have an LG mark on the base so it 'probably' rules them out. The only other company i can think of is Kingsware... http://www.whitefriars.com/bb_orig/viewtopic.php?t=1636

They usually have a lot of bubbles in them though so probably not their's either.

Maybe Caithness; they did a short-lived lumpy range. Ditto for yours TC. I'll look later

I am pretty sure Christine is correct, especially for the first vase, an unusual short lived Caithness production,

I just did a stripe count and it looks like there are 7 stripes in both vases.

The colours of the stripes are very Caithnessy, as well as the way they're used.

I've looked in the book and they're a match in my eyes to the 1970s textured items based on the Oban range. The slightly truncated form of the top one is a bit off, but as it wasn't a production range, that's probably fine. Reputedly designed by Oban manager Ken Wainwright. Sue and I know where there is a round one in the red and brown.

I've just realized how old the post is, i wonder if Paul H still has his? I just looked and i still have mine, it's been sitting in my cabinet for 5 years.  :-X

Paul's vase looks a lot better than mine.
