Title: Italian Faceted Murano Vase - ??
Post by: eglass on May 24, 2009, 07:54:15 PM
Hi you all!

I've asked over on the Italian Forum at fossilfly, but haven't gotten any nibbles yet. My question is about this vase that is shaped like pieces I've seen attributed to Flavio Poli, yet has faceted "windows" unlike Poli's pieces. I know Mandruzzato does pieces that are nearly ALL faceted, so I wonder if either of those makers may have had a hand in this vase. OR - is it another known maker?

Many thanks again,

Kelli

Kelli:

Very modern, i.e. current, and can be seen fairly regularly on eBay. They have a nicely polished base with no age. I have one I bought on the the chance that it might be good. Well, you can't win them all, but I would like to win at least one. Check this auction 380126058332. I'm sure I've seen them in your colours.

David

These are new, very nice quality but made in China.

Thanks very much, you all. I had gone ahead and listed mine, but based on this info I have pulled the auction. It is a nice piece of glass - darn those Chinese glassmakers are getting to be quite talented. :)  I appreciate your input!
