Title: Lovely Bark vase- Scandinavian? Id please
Post by: Elmwood on June 01, 2009, 02:45:28 PM
Hi everyone,

First of 3 pieces we have purchased this week, love them all.......

This one complements our Kosta Boda Sunflower Vase we posted a couple of weeks ago, don't suppose were on the right track are we? it has a lovely clear quality to it, and the texture is quite detailed.

Dimensions- 8.25" tall, base diameter at widest point 3.5", weight 855g.

Any info, date, designer,  background, factory etc all most welcome,  Many thanks Sharron  ;)

Hi Max,

Well what a fool am I !!

To even place "kosta Boda" and "Ravenhead" in the same sentence is unpardonable.

I need to peddle backwards a little to re-gain what little credit I have acquired.

Thank goodness it didn't make it to the cabinet..... with our other scandy pieces, yikes.

Ravenhead does have an important place in glass history though and can claim Alexander Hardie Williamson, John Clappison and Annette Meech amongst others as designers. Glass for the masses is as important in its own way as art glass

It's a popular vase because it's got a good design, so that's what you spotted.  No shame there!
