The vase looks like a Murano vase. It is in the mezza filigrana style of Dino Martens, but I am not sure who made the vase. Many companies did filigrana patterns that are similar to Martens. I don't recognize the vase as one of his designs. Whoever made it, it is a pretty vase.

The Chinese are doing these filigrana type things as well. Need a base picture

Thanks for the input, Christine. I have not seen the Chinese pieces, but it would explain the clockwise swirl of the filigrana. I know that it is not a strict rule, but I've noticed that Chinese pieces often have a clockwise swirl. Murano pieces of this type generally have a counterclockwise swirl (going up the vase).
