:o Oh My God!  One of those horrid Chinese things ... and they're employed that old chestnut 'it belonged to my Grandmother who owned it for years' sort of thing but they were made yesterday weren't they? I think they're absolutely ghastly.

Granny could have been telling the truth as she undertood it (as told to her by an original seller), and the seller could also be telling the truth as they know it.

Chinese items like this one were probably made in the 60s/70s, (see Glass Museum Article (http://www.theglassmuseum.com/Chinese.html)) so if the seller is young, they may easily have remembered it for most of their lfe.

I could also imagine a stolen photo (on ebay) and an elsewhere stolen text (on ebay) - didn't we have that years ago already? 'Combined' offers - and none at all behind them? But an account for money?

My mother has two of these given to her by her uncle - he actually bought his (probably in the late 60s or early 70s) in Italy as Murano glass - which is what he always believed they were, as did she until I joined this board and found otherwise!  http://www.theglassmuseum.com/Chinese.html 8)
