Title: identification - ysart?
Post by: SophieB on June 09, 2009, 06:35:32 PM
Can anyone tell me who made this weight? I am hoping that it is a Paul Ysart.
In any event any information would be most welcome. Many thanks.

Yes, it was made by Paul Ysart, probably 1930s or maybe post-war 1940s.

Welcome to the GMB ;D

Many thanks for the quick ID, the info and the kind welcome. I am a novice but already completely hooked!!! This is also my first Ysart. Thanks again.

Check out my articles on Ysart weights and things (http://www.btinternet.com/~kevh.glass/).

And if you have not already done so, you could consider joining the PCC (http://www.paperweightcollectorscircle.org.uk/), which produces a three-times-a-year superb full colour newsletter as well as organising all sorts of meetings and events.

Oh yes, and the PCA (http://www.paperweight.org/) is pretty good organisation to join, too. They do a rather good annual bulletin amongst other things.

1. Yes, I realized afterwards that you were the 'man of the Ysart paperweight site.' I am doubly grateful as your info there helped me decide to buy the weight in the first place!!!

2. Yes, I am thinking of joining the PCC. Actually you are the third person to suggest this in less than 3 weeks (conspiracy me think...).
