Title: Andromeda and Chribska
Post by: Jindra8526 on June 11, 2009, 10:35:45 AM
I have got by email several requirements to help with attribution of Skrdlovice "Andromeda" pieces, I have investigated the issue and here are results:

Skrdlovice "Andromeda" range was designed by Jan Beranek in 50ties, after 1960 we can find only one "Andromeda" candlestick 6447. Designed in 50ties does not mean that it was not in production in 60ties and later, but range design is older than 1960.

Very often is Andromeda mistaked for Chribska Hospodka's vase designed in 1957-58  (OK/154/1) and more recent modification of this shape.
The basic difference is in rotation of spiral. All Chribska pieces are screwed in oposite direction that Andromeda. Take a look at pictures:

Chribska  - Hospodka (left to right) - patterns OK/154/4; OK/154/1/25; OK/154/5
Andromeda Skrdlovice - Jan Beranek - patterns  ?; 6447; ? ; ?

Both - Chribska and Skrdlovice pieces had been fabricated in various colours. I am working on attribution, perhaps soon I will be able to give another patterns numbers.
