Post by: jonchellycain on June 15, 2009, 06:14:17 PM
Hi there
does anybody know who designed the Hans Cristian Anderson decanters made by Holmegaard in 1988 ??? The base reads H.C Andersen den standhaftige tinsoldat lars bo, im presuming this is The Staunch Tin Soldier and Lars Bo is the painter ?? I think ive answered my own questions but i do like to be sure  :24:.
are these very common??, ive only ever seen the christmas decanters/flasks before
many thanks
michelle

Bottle designed by Michael Bang, screenprint image designed by Lars Bo. First introduced c.1986. I've seen bottles bearing images for The Little Matchgirl and The Little Mermaid too.

They're not nearly as common as the Christmas bottles, but neither are they terribly rare - they're entirely machine-made and were very easy to churn out.

No, I'm not a big fan of these bottles either - they don't really represent the best of Holmegaard.
