Hi there
ive had this paperweight for a few years now, and have been unable to make a definate ID on it, the closest i can get is to give it the old "murano" guess.. It has cog style Millefiori canes (quite nice ones not the real cheap nasty sort) with a bronze coloured adventurine bit underneath which forms almost a semi ball shape under the millefiori with an open window at the base so you can see through to the millefiori.
It has round facets all the way around, the top 4 being more diamond shaped. The base is flat and polished although there is the remnants of a pontil mark. Quite a nice and well executed piece.
7cms in diameter weight 460g
does anybody have any ideas on maker/designer and approx age ??
many thanks
michelle

Definately Murano, possibly Fratelli Toso. 1950-80'ies.

Agreed - 100% Murano. But I am not sure which factory.

Looks like Fratelli Toso to me too. They used a lot of the cog style canes and their cane setups were usually very neat with unsquished canes. The aventurine ground was common with them.

Hi all...........I believe this is a smaller version of your paperweight at 295g. Has a sticker with the Murano rooster.......................Jerry
