Sadly, Bill Burchfield's Cape Cod Glass Works company closed a year or so back. I don't recall the actual year. There is generally little info in the usual literature relating to Bill Burchfield's CCGW period.

Hello if you need info on items made by cape cod glass works William C Burchfield let me know.
Thanks

Hi Mark and thanks for dropping by to the Glass Message Board. It would be wonderful if you could tell us some more about yourself, when you've got the time. :D
Ray, would it be possible to renew your photos above? If you could upload them to GlassGallery, that would be even better. Thanks!

I would be happy to answer any questions or tell you about any items we made. Most of the glass pieces we made have a signature cane. Some are really easy to read and some not so easy, glass is a funny thing when it's hot. The pieces we made that do not have signature canes in them were either a one of kind, the signature cane melted, we forgot to put one in (HA), prototypes or we made special for wholesale clients or folks who asked. I will say that I believe that our work is easy to identify, we have notice in the recent years we have seen copies but my dad was a man for detail and quality, so it's flattering but there is a difference. If you send pictures I will do my best to assist you on any info, I have started a project and hope to turn it into a collection of work and stories about us. It was something that I have always enjoyed doing but sadly have not work with glass until recently have started back working with glass. My dad closed his shop in TN a few years ago due to his health, he is doing much better now and even talks about doing something part time, I am keeping my fingers crossed. Take care and I look forward to hearing any questions you all my have.

It is a high resolution photo.
Hey Mark. Any recollection of who bought that great magnum close packed weight with frosted sides the you and your dad made? I'd love to track it down.

addg.
Please dont post photos like those!!! The Long Suffering Wife gets all nervous and wants me to get away from the computer so she can check the bank balance when I look at pics like those! >:D ;D >:D

The picture doesn't work in Firefox, all I get is a page of symbols :'(
-
It's a jfif format which Firefox doesn't like. Christine if you right click the link and save it as an image your graphics program should recognise what it is. My Paint Shop Pro did.

Thanks Anne. I cheated, I opened IE for the first time in yonks

I am so pleased to see this thread as I have a particular weakness for Burchfield paperweights. Thank you, Mark, for the information you shared, and addg, for your photo! Are the weights part of your personal collection? I have a few and will work on a group photo to post.
All the best ... Lily :)
