Title: disappearing P&P mark
Post by: Ivo on July 13, 2009, 07:24:15 AM
I obtained this vase yesterday and was about to ask you all whodunnit. The vase is oval, colour powdered, preformed in a ribbed mould, finished in another mould, satinated and lightly iridised - not a usual set of attributes. So I tried to photograph it - and then for good measure shot the underside.

It wasn't until I loaded the pictures into the computer and had it on screen that I saw it has a Peill & Pützler mark. It seems this particular mark on this particular background can only be seen in the picture and not on the piece itself. It is incredibly hard to spot even if you know it is there...

I'd be very happy if anyone has a clue as to the designer.

During some Peill research I came upon this query, and though I can't find a designer mentioned for this piece, I do know that the pattern is called "Malva". It was part of the "Peill Arte Colore" collection, and though the book I have is not entirely clear on the date, it suggests that this pattern was designed in the late 70s.

"Malva " makes a lot of sense, thank you!
