Hi there
picked this goat up this morning in a charity shop, at least i think its a goat maybe a "voluptuous" dear :24:. The piece is made from clear glass although has a green/grey tinge to it, very well made with great care and detail. very curvy (chubby) fella. The base has been polished off but not to a sheen clear finish, which is surprising as he is good quality. he stands horns and all at 17cms tall, bottom to nose 16.5cms and weighs in at just over 1kg.
I initially bought him just to re-sell but im taking a wee shine to him at the moment ;D

It does remind me quite a bit of Paul Critchleys work (diamond isle) as all his animals are a bit on the chubby side usually with big bums, but we have a few of his pieces and almost all of his work is signed even some of his seconds are signed. Plus his bases are high polished

Simmilar pieces also designed Miloslav Janků in ŽBS - Czechoslovakia in 70ties, but I have no proof for this one.

African was my first thought too. Mauritius Glass is possible to, and they do have a green tint. (Recycled glass)
