Title: purple glass pot/vase

Hi again, thought this mught be orrefors but can not find anything similar? 6inches, weight 1.2kg.

The shape is similar to this Kosta Boda vase but the purple colour does not seem right, I could well be wrong about the colour though.

Size and weight are about right too.

it does look exactly the same, but do Kosta not make purple ones then?  if not is there anything else it could be?

It is not a colour that I associate so much with Scandinavian glass but there are generally exceptions to every 'rule'. Strombergshyttan certainly used the colour and I would guess others did and it looks as though Kosta Boda did too!

If it was mine I would certainly call it Kosta Boda, I had my green one for two years not knowing who made it. Then I saw another one with the maker's sticker still on it and I was a happy glass nerd. ;D

I think the base of mine had a polished pontil (I sold it so I am having to rely on my addled brain).

Yes it does have a polished circular pontil mark, well I hope it is Kosta, really nice piece so that is just a bonus.
