Ok...gird your loins, you'll either love this or hate it! I love it and my husband hates it...guess we're going to fight over where it goes! (kitchen or shed!)
This dog must surely be Murano...but look at his biscuity eyes! Super! (to me anyway!) and his lovely satin body with uranium casing! Isn't he cute?
He's got a big chip on his foot, but he wasn't expensive so I don't mind. :hiclp:
Any idea of maker? Or just generic 1970s Murano for the tourists? lol
-
He is a sweetie Max i love him , put the old man in the doghouse for the night then he will learn to button it . looks quality to me . ;D  :chky:
-
I'm with you Max - I love it (if only because it's absolutely nuts!)
Put it in the shed for a while then, when John's not looking, bring it indoors :-)
-
Ah yes...the old 'switcheroo'! In the shed for a little while then craftily moved into a bathroom, then the stairs, then the kitchen...I'm with ya! ;)
He does look like quality to me...but probably not pin-downable to a maker...well, I can't think of anyone making bonkers dogs in the 70s...lol
-
That is a great dog. The bow is shaped like a cat that Salviati makes. The eyes are like those I've seen on Murano dogs that have a generic label, so I don't know who did them. My best guess is Murano, but company unknown. It looks like a good dog, even with its generic eyes. :o

I've got a bull that needs to gore that dog. I say your husband is right.
-
Just tell hubby.... where the dog goes, I follow....
Or you could use the one I hear.... If you really loved me... blah blah blah blah....
Just kidding.... >:D
For a glass dog... he is kinda cute.... but I really don't do animals in glass....

nope i agree with max he is gorgeous, any chance of getting a shot of him with the UV blacklight on, i bet he glows like mad
cheers

hi,thier was one of these dogs on ebay a couple of months ago, can't remember what was said about it or how much it was can remember seeing it though, kaz
-
Kaz, I don't really look at ebay anymore because I'm flat broke! :'( Wah! Poor me!
Michelle, he does glow like mad...what I need is some UV lights on shelves so I can illuminate uranium stuff all the time...wonder if Christine has them?
Thanks TX...in my mind I'll think of him as Salviati then. ;)
Uphoosier - ::glares::: ;)
Obscurities - He's already caved in! I can have the dog where I like! Wooot!! :hiclp:
-
just been on ebay thiers very simaler one on thier now buy it now £249.99 item no 360101056469,kaz
-
I am glad to hear he has caved.... based on my training (meaning how I have been trained)... that means he really loves you!!!
-
You should send him to play with my dog because he will only fight with your cats. Somewhere I have seen this chappie, but in shiny not satin, but I'm darned if I can find him. I thought Dave Petersen had one but... Cenedese might be another good bet but...
I do have UV lights sort of fixed up but they're never on... :-(
Kaz has found him but I think someone is havin' a larf at that price! ::)
-
AWww....he DOES really love me! He's a very good hubby (has to be or I beat him) :hiclp:
Thanks Kaz...I think I know the seller of that similar dog, although he doesn't use the GMB anymore. Wouldn't it be great if my one was Cenedese? I'm not selling my doggy though...he's so kitsch and funky...lol Thanks v much for the link to ebay. xx
Edit: Christine, you've echoed my thoughts, but you're not having him! ;D  :kissy:
-
 You're just mean Max. You didn't even send me that tatty old gondola thing you found in one of your less lucid moments
-
sounds like more of my training....... Anyone disagreeing will be beat savagely bout the head and shoulders!!! ;D
-
How did a perfectly harmless thread about a big uranium dog descend into beatings and tatty gondolas?? :24:
