No idea. Is it uranium glass? What's the foot like underneath?
-
Couldn't tell you if it's uranium glass but have sent image of base, where can you get the lights to show up if it's uranium?
-
yeah you can the lights on ebay, either a little keyring tourch or if you plan to sell glass i would say its worth buying the strip light in metal casing version i cant remember what we paid for ours but i think it was less than £30 been well worth it though search UV light or Black light
all the best

I would say that it was probably uranium glass, but I've no idea where from. Perhaps Italy  it reminds me of Carlo Moretti's satinato and the colour looks good for his green stuff.
There are some little UV LED flashlights on ebay as well quite cheaply. I have a UV light in my handbag and then various bigger UV lights (all the way up to a 6 ft strip, don't ask) that my beloved has picked up at boot sales. Just remember it must glow a VERY bright green!

Looks very Moretti satinato .

Thanks to all the replies, most grateful,Keith

Been researching Moretti but there is quite a difference in the feet and internal treatment of the vases, any other suggestions?
-
Having just spotted Keith's vase within a thread in the Murano forum (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,30770.msg166989.html#msg166989), I searched for his original message and would like to add this to the query ...
Green satined vase, 25.7 cm (9 3/4 inch) height. Base of foot is not satined and has a large indented central area with remnants of a circular cracking off mark (no photo of this as yet - needs daylight to show the details and it's now 3am where I am). Also, the underside of the turned over rim is not satined, and neither is the interior of the neck nor the initial part of the slope to the turn of the rim.
Does it glow under uv? See the photo. Same reaction under both longwave and shortwave uv.
When I bought it in the early 1990s, the dealer had it marked up as "Richardson Apple Green". I have no idea whether Richardson would be a correct attribution or not. And until now I have not seen another like it.

On a second look and sober i dont think its Moretti .
-
KevinH,is the inside satin or gloss? from all the posts on Moretti I've seen here I agree with johnphillip, would be suprised (pleased) if it was Richardsons. :o
-
Whole of inside is not treated in any way - so "glossy".
I am thinking that there must have been a cap of some form applied in order to leave the inside and the inner part of the top of the turned over rim "glossy". But I don't really understand how or why the underside of the rim, from the neck to the bottom edge, also remained untreated.

I think satin items of such vintage were hand "painted" with an acid paste
