Title: Czech glass form...designer?

Once again high up in the mountains and found this stunning colored piece...any ideas as to factory and designer.
I always seem to be asking...so if anyone knows where i can obtain catologues i would be truly grateful and yes i will pay for such.

can we have a base shot ie one from above so its easier to see the shape

Hi Norman,
Looks like ZBS - Zelezny Brod - and the oval blue label appears to back this up. One designer most commonly associated with this is Miloslav Klinger, but there were others and some shapes have not had a designer attributed yet. Perhaps Jindrich may know.
As I am sure you know, this appears to be Alexandrit/Neodymium glass, which changes colour from an icey blue to a pleasing violet/purple depending on the type of light.
The label may help to date it to a period - MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA or MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC....as many of these were made for long periods, or reintroduced in the 1980s-90s.

Glad it was of use - as I'm sure you know, the label wording indicates this was a later, 1990s+, piece made after the Velvet Revolution of 1989.
Doesn't stop it being a beautiful piece of glass though!

Always delighted to learn something new....have your book....then the next question.... when are u publishing another covering this subject extensively....i will be the first in line as i am sure dozens behind.
well following should sound better....smile
