Post by: keith on July 31, 2009, 01:03:31 PM
When in my youth I knew these as Chances fish,I now know the error of my ways and have been told that they could be Rumanian or Italian, the repro ones have a bluish tinge to the clear glass, this does not and it has a silvered interior, could anyone enlighten me?I have about 10 others of various shapes and sizes(there's no accounting for taste is there)

Few glass makers escaped the ubiquitous fish, but few will admit to them. Time for someone to start collecting these and describe them in detail - pinpointing them to the various works. In general you could say "1950's" - but examples are known from Italy, from England (I believe even Walsh Walsh did 'em), from Sweden, from Czechoslovakia and from Germany. Like glass clowns, there is no telling who made what. So please, get some more. And get some with labels.....
