Suncatcher....reminds me of Jiri Brabec
Why?
Sorry, Norman, but there are many other glass making countries, and designers, and the Czech Republic (the former Czechoslovakia) is not a prime candidate for manufacture, nor Brabec, for the design of such items. Did you czech the size on CD?

Regards,
M

It will be hand-pressed - a gob of glass will have been poured on to a marver and then pressed into with a patterned mould. Not unlike cutting cookies.

The design rather reminds me of suncatchers produced by Walther Kristall during the 1980s-90s - but it would be hard to tell for sure without a label.

thanks for that.....well now that i have looked up cast glass process....it seems like it could be cast as the decoration is raised....so probably a lost wax process.

The lost-wax process is only used for one-off items, NOT for something like this.

The fact that the design is off-centred on the suncatcher indicates that it was hand-pressed rather than cast.
