hi,i have seen these on ebay as riihimaki,is this true, and who is the designer please.mine is a two colour one with the middle section a lighter blue, and the bottom is clear cased,it is 28mm high.
thank you all
-
Yes they were made at Riihimaki, 'cam shaft' is an ebay name, I do not know who the designer was having seen a variety of attributions given in the past.
Yours is a single colour (all I have seen are) the difference in colour is due to varying thicknesses of the glass.
One of my favourite Riihimaki designs....
John.
(do you mean 28cm high, otherwise can I buy your special mini one)
-
haha, whoops,it would have to go in a dolls house at that height, yes 280mm.
thats great it will go on my riihimiaki shelf with all my other beauties.
thanks john

Hi
The designer was Tamara Aladin
Robert

Robert, have you seen that in print?

Hi John
Designlasi has it down as her- and they're very unlikely to misattribute.

No problem
It's a great website run by a lovely guy!
The forum posts are often in Finnish, but don't be afraid to post in English-
The Finns speak better English than we do Finnish ;)

they do,and they speak with an american accent.my brother lives in finland with his finnish girlfriend.i'm off to see them in a couple of weeks,so i will have to purchase lots more loveley riihimaki and iittala glass.i'm hoping to buy a busy lizzie(akherlisa),or some of the piku matti range, and some more of the kekerrit glass range.
and hopefully a trip to riihimaki itself and go to the finnish glass museum.
