Title: Unusual Engraved Goblet
Post by: Rosie1 on August 10, 2009, 04:40:57 PM
Hi,
I am wondering how old this unusual goblet might be and what sort of glass it's made of.  It's very thick glass with random bubbles and I think it might be just a bit of end of day glass although as it's been engraved with a ship someone has taken more time over it. The pontil is smooth and slightly dimpled.
Size is 4.5" tall & 3.5" dia of rim. Weight is 450g

Thanks

I seem to remember the style - it is Swedish, by Reijmyre - 1970s.

Also like the stuff Hill Ouston imported to UK, my catalogues are not to hand at the moment...

Would that type of design be sandblasted in the 70s? Possible but I would have thought acid and sandblast.
