Title: Amethyst pressed glass perfume bottle - ID = Made in Italy

Hi could you look at the photos and see if you recognise the maker and did any British maker make glass in this colour and is it depression glass,the stopper is a ground stopper and fits well.lynn

Hi Lynn, I have a similar-shaped clear perfume with a different stopper (see pic below). Mine came in a plain white box marked Made in Italy, made not that long ago (within the last 20 years I'd say.).

Depression glass is a term best reserved for 1920s/30s pressed glass made in America. (That's not to say that nowhere else didn't make glass then, just that no-one else defines their history in quite that way)

Thanks Christine and Ann,yes it isn't dissimilar to the one you have Ann,i just thought it was a nice deep colour,and thanks for the depression glass info...Lynn
