Yes, I know I shouldn't put two pieces on one post - but it's really only one and a bit ;)
Yesterday I knew nothing about either piece - but thanks to Glen's encyclopedic site and some time spent searching, I now know that the first pic. is the German marigold "Footed Prism Panels Vase" by Brockwitz, but I don't have a date. Can anyone help please.
the second piece I really know nothing about, so very grateful for any help please. About 23 cms. tall with a smooth shallow depression on the base. Seems little unusual with the marigold only near the top area? thanks for looking. Paul S.

Your vase looks like a variant on 'smooth panels' by the U.S company 'Imperial',while looking for this I came across another 'footed prism panels' and according to 'Edwards Carnival Glass' it's by Sowerbys ,Keith
-
thanks Keith - obviously a little knowledge is dangerous where I'm concerned - and now I am confused - so may wait to see what others say. Do you have any idea of dates for either piece. cheers Paul S.

I believe that Edwards is not overly reliable. The Footed Prisms or Footed Prism Panels is Brockwitz, late 1920s, early 1930s, "Century of Carnival Glass," Thistlewood and Thistlewood
I think Keith is correct with Smooth Panels, although the barely flared top looks quite unusual. It seems quite common for Imperial vases to be only partially irridised. Personally, I think it spoils them.

thanks again Christine - I shall now make a point of getting the book you mention. Do you know if the other piece that Craig describes as possibly 'Smooth Panels', is also in the same volume? thanks Paul S. P. S. hope you don't get sued for libel ;D

I couldn't spot Smooth Panels in any of my books; maybe it's not the correct name, maybe I just couldn't find it for looking. i found it on-line

The first vase is, of course, Brockwitz Footed Prism Panels. Circa 1920s-1930s.
The second vase is Dugan Diamond's Golden Flute.

(ps Christine will not be sued for libel >:D).

thanks indeed Glen - annoyingly when I bought the Golden Flute at the boot sale there were a pair, but one had seen vastly better days, so I came away with only the one. Actually, I like it - it's a little unusual with the partial colouring - and is the date line similar to the Brockwitz? However, I will certainly now get the book, and again thanks for the help.
