Hi Keith, Frank explained it in an earlier topic here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,22153.0.html

Putting cellophane into the board's Search box will bring up more results about this type of glass. Hope this helps. :)

Can you post a picture of yours Ivo. Is Mantorp maker or place?

unable to access any information at all. We're in a major rebuilding operation, all glass and books are in storage.  But your cordially invited to google Mantorp Glasbruk, there is a lot of info out there.

Had a quick scan but nothing remotely like it, could not find when started either. Needs more time... bit short of that at the mo... Bet answer is in your book... another building project. Are you transforming your ground floor?

I didn't know a gallery was what you're building!

Michael would never let me have a gallery.

Thanks for pic. Looks modern and nowhere near the thickness of cellophane, not decorated in the same style... so perhaps Mantorp another red herring. I still cannot find if they were active in the 1930s, not mentioned in Hartmann and Fact-file is not accessible.

Did find a Hovmantorps active in 1951 but listed as Swedish Crystal, but lacking more info on this listing would assume it to be a USA registered trademark used by US importers of Swedish crystal rather than a Swedish glassworks. None of the 'Hovmantorps' references on-line show anything remotely like Cellophane.
