Post by: mhgcgolfclub on August 23, 2009, 05:14:32 PM
Bohemia glass cherries bowl bought from a car boot today , I thought I post it on the GMB in case the labels are of interest to anyone, I know the gold Bohemia one is 1970's 80's but not sure about the blue JJ label

Hi Roy
This plate does not feature in Art Before Industry CD ...so i would love to know who where and when....as i have a large collection of Czech pressed glass......it is interestiing seeing this plate. There are quite a few items with cherries but then they appear as later pieces and yours according to the label is earlier.
Very nice find....and should you want to sell it....i am a willing buyer...smile
best
Norman

The pattern appears to look the same as the pattern on this vase.

Hi Norman, it's on the CD - in the pdf catalogue Rosice Glassexport 1987, page 25, Barolac - rather than in the book.

Roy, what size is your bowl please?

Marcus says the JJ label is for Johnsen & Jorgensen, the importers. He also says it's modern Barolac,  probably 1980s.

The bowl measures 8.5" or 21.5cm in diameter, height 3.5" or 9cm , weight just over 1.1kg
