Title: opalino, blue, Murano?
Post by: interiorforms on August 25, 2009, 01:40:14 PM
My husband came home with this over the weekend; it's not in the best condition but the colors are pretty striking. In regular lighting as it is on a tabletop the colors are vivid blue and a milky white. When held it up to a light source one can see amber and green. Maybe this is a clue for some of you? I'm by no means an expert on Murano glass, but I'd guess Toso. Thanks for any comments and thoughts on this piece! -Kimberly

You have to give us a chance, Many experts only come in to the forum once a week or even less often. Lovely bowl!

I think this might be AVeM I have a bowl similar to this in terms of the execution of the bowl particularly the edge. Mine is without the turned up lip but is of a similar size. My photo's were done in natural light and therefore the clear edge doesn't show up as clearly as yours.

Hi Carolyn. Thank you. The blue is spectacular.

Hello Ardy. Yes, your bowl does have striking similarities to mine. Thank you for sharing the link as it gives me a place to start looking. Thank you so much!

Yes I thought they were similar too. I was a bit disappointed with mine as I was hoping it was Seguso but as soon as I saw it I knew it wasn't A.S. but it had the AVeM label on it so I am sure that is what mine is.

It has grown on me and now I like mine a lot. Very good work and something a bit different about it.
