Title: Pierre Schneider Opaline Veritable
Post by: Pain on August 27, 2009, 12:40:49 PM
Ok I am sat at home thinking - dangerous I know!  Today I have spotted a Pierre Schneider large glass blue Opaline bowl possibly a punch bowl with what looks like brass edging and a brass ladle still in its box.  The label says Opaline Veritable Pierre Schneider.  25euros to buy or not to buy that is the question.  Votes close at 15.30 french time.

Thanks Frank I am not convinced its contemporary something tells me not to buy it but on the other flip of the coin its bugging me.  Firstly the contemporary appear to have a silver label this one had a gold label, a straight piece stating opaline veritable and then a ribbon type label underneath that has pierre schneider.  Obviously I know its not "the schneider" if it was I wouldnt be hanging about.  It comes in a box which is quite tatty but clearly made for it as the ladel it comes with is also still attached and the bowl also looks simple to be either old or contemporary.  I think I am just going to let this walk and have another owner.

Toilet set appears to confirm fairly modern - I would guess 90s. Pity those pics don't blow up.

There must be some central register of small verrerie here but to busy building to check it out. Pages jaune ain't much help, ask here http://www.institutduverre.fr/index.htm

Yes similar but the colouring doest look right to me.  I cant seem to open the pictures up on this set for some reason.  The bowl I saw looked more milkier in colouring I wonder if that would be an indication.
