Hi, out of my comfort zone here, so Walther is a guess. Stands 12 " (30cms) tall, and diameter of bowl is 10 " (25.5 cms). In two parts, the base seems also to able to be used as a candle stick and the bowl has a base "knop" which fits into the candlestick to form a fruit bowl.......although doesn't sem too stable for much fruit. Can anyone help me with this please. TIA Emmi

Sorry for the poor photo quality!

I don't know much about this style, but you can find the identical one in peach colourway on Pamela's site: http://www.pressglas-pavillon.de/index2.html
...and guess what?! It's Walther! :girlcheer:
I hope that someone can tell you if it normally comes with the platter on the top. :)

Thanks Max...........I just this minute found it too on Pamela's site..........no idea if the platter is meant to be with it, and would love to know. It (the platter) has to sit on or in something though as with the "knop" thing on the base it has no use as a free standing dish. I suppose i could make it more secure with a bit of Museum Gel to keep it firmly in place!!! Emmi

I have the twin in vaseline, although the top is a little different (and has a rolled rim).

So, I see on Pamela's site that some of these pieces have names, are these official names, and are there any catalogue numbers or anything similar? And Glen, does your bowl fit snugly and without any movement on top of the candle stick base, or does it wobble a bit like mine? Emmi

They are official names. The German and Czechs seemed to like giving things names (and numbers) in their catalogues.

It fits like a dream, Emmi. Snug as the proverbial bug!

Well I wouldn't risk more than two grapes and a tangerine in mine...........
-
The pattern on mine is slightly different...........
EDITED TO ADD, it is like those also on the Neptun and Sunfish bases

I just did a few quick "snaps."

That is lovely Glen, oh dear, now I am smitten and will have to look out for another !!! ::) Emmi

Oooohhh they are both gorgeous!   I'm going to have to struggle to resist the temptation of these if I see them on sale... I don't have the room!
Pamela's site calls it the Three Graces base. I've gone through the Walther catalogues on Glas-Musterbuch but can't find a matching entry for it (yet). Do we have a date for it Glen?
-
It is in a 1934 Walther catalogue, Anne. The bowl on top in the catalogue illustration looks like mine (appears to be same pattern and has a rolled rim with scalloped flutes).

Oh, now I just HAVE to keep it. I was born on a Tuesday, and as the saying goes, "Tuesday's child is full of grace!!!" LOL!!!!

Glen, thank you. :kissy:
Emmi, it was meant to be!

This comport is shown in DK Collectables Price Guide 2007 page 274. It said a 1930 German Walther (Nymphen) pressed glass two-piece comport. Price £120-180. I saw one at the glass fair at a marked price of £250. The reason what l looked at it because l got a blue one as well.
