Title: Not Whitefriars, could it be Webb?

Does anyone know who made this jug and tumbler set please? It's amber, optic ribbed, polished pontil on the base. Was listed as Whitefriars, but I'm certain it isn't. I saw the same shape but in amethyst listed as Webb some while ago. Could it be Webb? Any hints, clues, thoughts, appreciated. :)

Anne — tricky.   Have you looked at the base of the handle for a maker's mark?

I've searched both jug and tumblers minutely Bernard and nothing anywhere (story of my life!).

I did, however, count the ribs like you said before with my amber dishes. The jug has 8 ribs, the tumblers have 16. They all have polished pontil marks.

And...  my neighbour with her surplus glassware has some of these in green... maybe this colour will help pin down a maker?

 The difference i have noticed between the Webb and Whitfriars water sets is the size of pontil the Webb one is much bigger and spans most of the base on glasses and jug, the Whitefriars pontil is much smaller , about the size of a two bob bit ,thats got the young ones and the Yanks puzzled.JP  :huh:
