Title: possible French C19 vase.

If nothing else this is a bit different from the usual straightforward single colour or cased vases.  I can't see anything like it in Manley,Gulliver or Grover.   The white is almost like Opaline when viewing it against the sun.  Might it be French.   The base is without a pontil mark, and appears 'straight from the mould'.  about 22 cms. tall and about 11.5 cms. at the widest, and there is some - but not much - wear.   For the technically minded, there are 29 pink ribs.   Cud it be 'modern??   Grateful for any thoughts, and thanks for looking.   Paul S.

Have you looked for a reaction to UV light? - particularly in the opalescent white?

It is unusual, and my gut reaction would be to say 19th Century rather than 20th.  You could be right in thinking that it was French, but it could also have come from Bohemia.

thanks for your thoughts.   I am almost certain that I did put the torch over it yesterday, but without any reaction, however I will check again.   Paul S.
