Title: uranium thick pressed glass candleholders or trinket bowls? = piano feet

hi guys these are two uranium thick chunky pressed glass. i think candle holders? ed thinks trinket holders?
they look like cog wheels :) they are uranium glass there 1 1/2  inch high and 3 inch wide. any info would be great. thanks guys

I'm afraid you need another two of these for a set,I believe they are piano feet,got 4 green ones myself,Keith.

Or piano insulators or castors. The round bowl shaped side is the top. And they're not uranium glass - they'd either be like this one or a proper green (although I have yet to find a green uranium one) if they were. They came in a wide range of shapes (often misdescribed as salts or ashtrays) and shades of blue, brown, green, clear and yellow. Smaller ones were sold as furniture castors.

hi thank you for the info. thats strange as we have tried our uranium pen on them and they do have uranium in them. maybe not as much as our other peice of uranium glass but there is defo uranium in them. any id of age and maker thanks guys  :)

They may glow but they do NOT have uranium in them.

that is the clincher. Old glass often glows under a UV light but it has to be a really, really bright green. It doesn't matter how much or how little uranium there is, the glow is invariably bright. Your glow is probably caused by the presence of manganese, a decolorisng agent that gives a dull green or yellowish glow. I also suspect this design may be Sowerby (it's hard to tell from the catalogue pix), which definitely rules out uranium in this colour
