Title: A Whitefriars Swan Question
Post by: Tinker-Taylor on September 11, 2009, 09:59:33 AM
Hi Fellow Glassers!

Please could you kindly vote on what colour you think this Whitefriars Swan is?

Someone has just told me it's a 'Sapphire' but I thought it was 'Arctic Blue'.

It doesn't usually have such a blue glow (looks quite boring and verging on grey when indoors) but this was a sunny day outdoors.

Look forward to hearing you thoughts.

Thanks in advance,
Stu.

Sorry... false alarm!

Phew!

He is Arctic Blue.  It's just the sunshine.  LOL.  Not used to the big yellow thing in the sky lately!

As you were, etc.

Mods, please remove with my apologies.

Stu.

Stu, I'll move it over to British and Irish as it's a handy colour reference for us to have. Hope that's OK. :)

Leni — Brilliant reference photograph, most useful.   I've already linked your reply in elsewhere.

Thanks,

My pleasure  ;)  I can do the greens as well if you like  ;D  I'm always sticking my nose in and telling ebayers what colour their swans are, aren't I Stu?   >:D

Yep, but where would we be otherwise?  I like selling correctly.

Plus I've always wanted to use the saintly emoticon!

And for those who, like me, find the whole range of W/f colours an absolute minefield,  such comparative photos are a lifesaver, thanks Leni!   :kissy:

OK, I'll do the greens then  ;)

My Ocean Green 'family' are not all together at the moment, so there was only one small fellow available to photograph. He's the one on his own on the right in the first picture.  The second picture shows two small WF swans - Ocean Green on the left and Sea Green on the right.

Fantastic Leni - now I know I have a 'Sea Green' also.

Thanks

(Getting worried, as I might actually be starting to like these swans... what's that all about?)
