I believe it to be Stuart Strathearn.
Maybe best wait for official confirmation from somebody who knows more than I do about this sort of thing, though!

Looks similar to a piece of phoenician glass i had a while back (maltese glass blowers), ive also seen caithness do a similar sort of thing

I have seen a few items with this surface decoration recently in different shapes, I had wondered if they were modern and mass produced.

I would say either modern/mass produced or Strathearn. So that's either really bad or really great!

Sue's right. Stuart Strathearn Impressions (http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=342&Itemid=51) range designed by Iestyn Davies

And I've asked somebody who knows a lot more than I do about this, who has also confirmed the id.
I personally suspect an Isle of Wight Studio Glass "inspiration" behind this design..... and I'm not alone.

There's also a very similar Caithness range...
