Hello
I have searched Pamela's site, but have not found this oval centrepiece.
It measures 9.5" long by 7.5" wide, and I wonder if you clever people might have a suggestion as to the maker?
Thanks in advance,
Stu.

Stozle I think, try a search on here. I know we've ID'd it

Thanks all!
I saw that one but dismissed it because it's round. Silly of me, I know, as I don't suppose anyone else would have done them in the same fan design. :-[
The interesting thing is that my seller said that the bowl was bought by her Mother as part of a set with these vases (below) but the vases are on Pamela's site, in amber variation, under 'unknown' (sorry, I can't seem to link to the vase on Pressglas but it's about three quarters of the way down on 'Vases').
Is it possible for the vases to be Stölzle too? If so, then I can regard them all as a Stölzle set, which would be lovely.

It wouldn't surprise me. Are they all uranium glass and/or a good colour match?
-
Hi Christine
I don't have the means to check, which is quite annoying.
I'm in turmoil at the moment because I should be selling them but their one-off quality makes me want to keep them. I don't know why I put myself through this anguish every week! :ac1:

Whoops, yes, the colours match very well. Should I mention it to Pamela?
-
Bowl is, as Christine says, Stölzle, Heřmanova huť, pattern number 19279.
I can't find the vases in that catalogue, so I would be wary of claiming that they were from the same manufacturer as the bowl.

Very kind of you - the detail is much appreciated. What a strange thing those vases are though!
Thanks again.

I have very similar piece of glass. Is it also Stolzle? Does anyone now the date of production?
-
Yes, these are shown in the pre-1958 catalogue but the design could well date from the 1930s. There's a whole range of items in this pattern. Many details of them may be found in the CD catalogues which accompany Marcus Newhalls' book, Sklo Union Art Before Industry: 20th Century Pressed Glass.
