Any ideas which company made this particular one please? No marks seen. Not particularly well moulded and the seam is quite raised.
Spotted a similar looking one which was attributed to Imperial Glass Co. and a recasting of an original made by Gillinder Co. in the 1880's, but made by Imperial from around the 1950s or so.
Just wondered if this could be a modern one also? No signs of wear which I would expect if it had been older.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. ;)

It looks very similar to the one near the bottom of this page on the Cloud glass website. That doesn't help as much as it might as they don't have a clear attribution for it either.

I don't see why Cloudglass suggest repro - seems a bit pessimistic to me, especially as Davidson could have continued to make them. It's also now that the 1930's kids are getting towards their 'three score and ten', so to speak. These things are bound to have been left to people who are now giving them up to help pay for care homes, hospital care, etc... Which comes first - an increased deco availability or an increased public penchant for deco items? I would say the former.
I got quite excited when I saw this post because I really like John Derbyshire's Landseer Lions and his Spell Glass Vase, but seeing this chap was just as much of a treat. Thanks for posting.

There are several lion variants but not all have been attributed. Have a look on here, as I know we've discussed them before

I'd say it was pretty much the same as the one shown on the Cloudglass website. Thanks for showing it.
The Greener and Derbyshire ones sit on a double 'plinth' and are much better sculpted and more detailed than mine.
I guess this one will have to remain a mystery ;)
