Have seen some online very similar designated as Czech, but with my limited knowledge it could as easily be K-Mart. Clear bottom and shaped very much like a doorknob as it is wider than it is high.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi
It could well be Czech - but that does not necessarily mean old. I have seen plenty of modern trumpet flower / bubble paperweights for sale in various countries in central Europe, manufactured in the Czech Republic, Austria, and Poland. That said, darker glass usually indicates an older piece, but these weights are relatively simple designs for competent glass makers, and have been made in many countries. For a glimpse of modern Czech paperweights by a well known maker check out Beranek (http://www.beranekglass.com/) - go to Product Catalogue, then Paperweights, where there are about 60 designs.
