Title: small retro drinking glasses - maker id pls?
Post by: Elmwood on October 07, 2009, 10:08:02 AM
Hi,

Came across these cute little retro looking glasses x 6 yesterday. Small but chunky feel and thickness to glass. The nodules or prunts on the belly of the glass can be felt from the inside and are hollow- m does this indicate that they are mould blown? There are no seams, and the whole glass looks to be in one piece.

Wondered whether they were any from any particular maker or design?
Measure 4" tall, rim width, fraction over 2", foot 2.25",and thickness of foot is 5mls.

Hope someone can assist, many thanks in advance as always, Sharron

Pukeberg I think - though I've never seen them in amber.

there is a clear bowl with sticker sitting in a local secondhand shop at 7,50 Euros - so I'm leaving it until they throw it at me in desperation.

Hi Ivo,

Not quite sure how to interpret that.... ::)

Too much money, or no-takers because its a non-desirable item. I paid £4 for all 6, and thought that was value for money.....

I only ever buy something if I am certain it can make three times what I pay for it - and at 7,50 I'd sayt no.

Well I guess I'll see if I can claw back my £4 (plus fees) when I list them. ;)

Do you think it would be ok to list as "possibly PUKEBERG"......  or "Pukeberg?".   I know how much angst it causes people on here.

Thanks Sharron

Always say "possibly" or "attributed to" unless you have cast iron proof on paper at hand. You have correctly estimated the angst and the gnashing of teeth - even if collectors of Swedish glass are, in general, quite tolerant.
