Title: DEPRESSION GLASS QUERY
Post by: vidrioguapo on October 12, 2009, 06:55:52 PM
DEPRESSION GLASS is not my area of expertise, but a friend abroad is asking for some help in identyfying the maker of something just described as

Jeanette Green Sierra Pinwheel Depression Glass.

Sorry no photos but hope someone will recognise the name/pattern and whom might be the manufacturer?

If so, is it one of the more collectable patterns?  And where would be the best site to find photos etc.

TIA

Emmi

Thank you so much Pamela.  I was hoping you would see this, as I just have a little knowledge only on the more obvious makers.  Regards  Emmi

Sierra, aka Pinwheel, was made by Jeannette Glass Company 1931-1933 in green, pink and some ultramarine. The green should contain uranium and glow bright green under a UV light. One of the harder to find patterns apparently; watch for missing tips on the points, as this devalues them.
