Title: Scavo ball vases, contemporary

I'm not quite sure this is, in fact, sgrafo, but it is rough to the touch and not transparent, not even the bottom. It is not very 'glassy' at all.  The stick vase has a similar texture and feel but it is overshot - except for the bottom which is clear.  Anyone seen these techniques around ?

These vases look like they have applied glass frits to me, although it's difficult to see exactly.  I think Chance glass did similar stuff, Sue has commented on it before.

The spherical ones have a look of the work of Carlo Scarpa for Venini, but other Italian companies worked in this finish, though the round ones do have a Murano feel to them.
