Title: Who do you think made this pressed glass ink well?
Post by: Tinker-Taylor on October 15, 2009, 09:27:14 PM
I am sure it has no value, but I am curious regarding the maker of this British inkwell.

The word "England" is just about visible near the hinge (but not in these photos).

Any suggestions welcome.

TIA
Stu.

That's not necessarily true. There's some pretty ropey UK glass out there. I think most of the colour is from the background - a plain black one would be better.

The inkwell may not be all-British, although the fittings are. Glass to go with metal fittings was not necessarily sourced from the same country. For example i know of a cakestand with Sowerby glass plates and US fittings. It's in the US.

Thanks for your considerations.

The glass colour is as per photos.
