Title: Help identifying footed bowl please - ID = Whitefriars 9662
Post by: marie anne on October 20, 2009, 03:27:01 PM
Hi,
This is a recent boot sale find but I'm having trouble identifying the maker.  The colour and style suggest Scandinavian glass to me, but am also wondering about British glass manufacturers.  Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Marie.

Possibly Whitefriars 9662 in Meadow Green, although the foot looks a little taller in the catalogue page, and you don't give the dimensions of your bowl... so it's hard to say.

Whitefriars' 1972 catalogue: http://www.whitefriarsorg.org/memb1/cat-72/p26.jpg

Thank you very much for your reply.  I'd looked in Lesley Jackson's Whitefriars book, but not spotted it.  The bowl is 10'' (25.5cm) in diameter.  Does that help?  Marie.

Duh..just spotted how to zoom the image from the Whitefriars catalogue.  So 10'' diameter sounds right.  Thanks again.

That's the one!  I bought one last week in Cinnamon.............very lovely bowl in my opinion and a design feat, as it is so perfectly balanced.
