Hi everyone
Saw this in the charity shop and thought I'd better bring it home, just in case. Only cost £1.00
Does anyone want to make my day?
-
No don't think so, most likely Ingridglas or somewhere similar
-
Sorry DEFINATELY not Whitefriars  I think its Royal Castle, but not sure.
Warmest Wishes,
John

Oh noooooo! - not another piece of glass for dinner lol! Still a hefty piece of glass might not need desert.
Thanks for your help - both of you.

It is by Ravenhead, used to be thought to be made by Royale Castle, but has since been seen boxed made by Ravenhead. Always on ebay described as Whitefriars. Comes in a few other colours too.

Well thank you very much - I can now stop searching bark effect glasses.

Hi Pauline when you have a spare day go to Huntercombe Manor near Nettlebed or Henley you can learn so much about Whitefriars . Willie or Harvey will answer most if not all of your questions and you will have a nice day in beautiful countryside and see more W/Fs and Powell than you have ever drempt about . PS if you tell Harvey i sent you their maybe a nice glass of Claret . No not for me but for you . ;D ::)

That's really nice of you - I have scoured the Whitefriars . com website may times, but to see lots of their glass in the flesh, so to speak, would be great. Is that Henley upon Thames, I'm only 20 minutes from there?
-
Yes past Nettlebed straight over the mini roundabout you will see a right turn for Huntercombe Manor if you miss the turn dont panic it is a dangerous turn just go on untill u see a safe place . Motherhen / alias jp

I had wondered who made these vases, so thanks all. I notice on the blue ones that the area of about 5mm below the rim is much more obvious than the clear ones. It almost looks as through it's been crimped in some way.
I recently saw some for sale in a Bristol retro shop, labelled as "Whitefriars Reproduction" which was quite horrible. They would be lovely little vases, if they didn't feel rather like heavy plastic.
