From Andy McConnells book on The Decanter, your age estimate early 19th C seems accurate,
(if not a later repro) I should imagine they came from a case or tantalus, (square shape)
sorry, no ideas on origin  :-\
cheers

Thanks Andy, nice to know I'm not too far off ( no not repro).
Does it say they are English then? I'm surprised if they are. Does it give any clues as to where they're from

Shrub sounds tasty  :24:  (after drinking, this happens)

The square decanters could be from anywhere, they dont look top quality.
Theres some similar english ones in the book, they look a bit more faceted and polished,
but it would be a wild guess to go further, i think you could call the stoppers as
radial cut  Mushroom shape, c1790- thru 19thC
Andy

(dont see why they couldnt be English  :-\ )

Thanks,
Could be I suppose, just havent seen anything like them before with English attribution but have seen similar shapes as other scandinavian and Dutch. You're right about the quality, not too hot.

Ok... could be from anywhere i get it.  Off to use my other post (heavy tumbler). No shrub, sloe gin still maturing so It'll have to be a single malt.
Cheers,
David
