Title: Two-coloured Walther Hubertus - How is it done?
Post by: dirk. on November 01, 2009, 01:52:07 PM
Hello,

I found this really nice pressed bowl last weekend. It's a Hubertus bowl made by August Walther & Söhne.
Surprisingly it's made of different coloured glass; pink to the base and a light uranium green to the top.
My question is how this would have been achieved. Is the glass mass filled into the mould manually - like filling in a ring of uranium glass, then another piece of pink glass (or reverse order depending on which part of the mould is on the top)?
Any opinion or description thankfully anticipated!

TIA
Dirk

Thanks, Keith. Can you recall if the candleholders of the trinket set were like
this one on Pamela's site?

Saw the trinket set, must have been wearing Mr Magoo's spectacles, apart from being a similar colour scheme it was hideous, chipped, cracked and the single tall candle stick had been glued back together with brown 'gloop',not a nice set,Keith.

Thanks for taking your time - that was such a nice thing to do!
Anyone dare a guess wether these two coloured pressed items were done in series?
