Title: Amber engraved vase. Scandanavian or Asian?
Post by: uphoosier on November 02, 2009, 12:35:59 AM: The form and glass bring Scandanavian makers to mind, but the engraved design looks Asian. I welcome opinions regarding maker and origin. It is about 20cm tall. Thanks for looking.

Post by: uphoosier on November 03, 2009, 01:39:58 AM: The bottom does have significant scratching (that can happen in a couple of days) and is very finely polished. The top of the rim is also polished, and the inside and outside edges of the rim have a slight bevel and are polished. Obviously very thick glass.

Post by: kane_u_pain on November 07, 2009, 04:08:36 AM: Faceted vase???...10kg's???...are you joking???...i wouldn't have enough strenght in my arms to lift that...my heaviest is just over 5kgs/14.5 inches (36 cm) (not chinese)...cant lift it with one hand LOL...the Chinese are certainly coming out with smaller/heaver pieces...10 kgs...jesus...
