Title: Bagley grantham vase copy
Post by: bungie60 on November 11, 2009, 12:22:24 AM
I know its not glass (well enamel is glass) but have a look at this how similar to Bagleys Grantham vase. Eyes nearly popped out of my head. On ebay a pair of art deco cast iron enameled vases by Ebe-Verken, Huskvarna, Sweden. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/A-PAIR-OF-ART-DECO-CAST-IRON-ENAMELED-FIRESIDE-VASES_W0QQitemZ380175903896QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Antiques_Architecural_RL?hash=item58843fec98

Take a look at paragraph 4, "a cast iron flower vase from the cemetery provided the model for a geometrical flower vase (pattern 334)"

The same quote is in van Riel's article in BGbtW p.38.

Yes read that before but never realised how similar until seeing one. Had a good look on the web even found a pair with matching square flower holders. Thank you all Mark
